If you think you are ……, you are

Olympics time and here is a beautiful message. Got this message today, it is really nice. Have you wondered why it is so important? We will look into some of this after you enjoy the beautiful lines.

You are a winner if you think so

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, then you won’t.
If you like to win, but you think you can’t,
it is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.
For out of the world we find,
success begins with a fellow’s will–
it’s all in the state of the mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are–
you’ve got to be sure of yourself before
you can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
to the stronger or faster man,
but sooner or later the man who wins
is the man who thinks he can.

I will let you define why it matters, why your thinking matters. Enjoy! (For a lighter node, don’t miss http://www.monsterindia.com/smile/ and http://www.microsoft.com/surface/index.html)

  1. Olympics do provide us with motivational moments. I remember one such inspirational quote by John Akhwari, a marthon runner representing Tanzania in 1968 Olympics in Mexico. He fell down during the race. He was badly hurt, blood poured out from his knees and one of the joints was dislocated. But rather than quitting the race, he got up and bandaged his knee and started running. He finished hours after the winner and last among the 74 competitors. Asked why he continued to run when there was no chance that he could win, he replied, “My country did not send me 5,000 miles to start the race. They sent me 5,000 miles to finish the race.”
